Review

I should probably lay off the post-apocalyptic sci-fi. But every time I do, they keep coming out of the woodwork with their dirty little fingers, pulling me back in. There’s something compelling about them, seeing how we might try to live after a global catastrophe, that makes me come back for more from this food dish.

So what can I say about the desolation and loneliness depicted in Remnant that hasn’t already been said in my other reviews? Not much, except that the gritty realism in this is truly gritty because every place is real. Without any trickery (except some possible set dressing) the locations in the film are all real places.

Remnant shows that you don’t need a massive effects budget to pull off convincing locations. Yes you, too, can shoot your own post-apocalyptic film if you make good use of the locations around you. This film is proof of that.
