A Strange Phenomenon

For some reason this just came to me.  During production on The Cursed, there were times when we would have cast and crew members over to the house.  Usually it would be a meeting of some kind with a lot of bantering which would ultimately end with us leaving.

On every occasion though, I noticed that every single person that went into my room/office (I had a bed next to the desk), everyone would head over to my DVD collection and scan it thoroughly.  It’s not like I had a big collection, but I guess it’s one of those unshared things that everybody in the movie business likes to look at to get a better understanding of the person they’re working with.

I recall on one specific occasion when James Marshall was in there and looked through them.  I tried not to point out that I had a copy of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, but instead hauled out my copy of The Wraith and said something to the effect of, “It’s not Oscar material, but it’s a fun ride.  And it has Sherilyn Fenn in it.”

“Oh yeah,” he said.  “We’re friends.”

Then it hit me that, durrrr, he had worked with her on the TV show Twin Peaks.  Man I felt like a daft fool.  But James was a really cool guy about it.  Probably one of the most laid-back of all of the actors that worked on the movie.  He was fun to drive around and just chit-chat about different things.

Yet another embarrassing moment brought to you by I.

Update: After looking at this post and seeing the one directly below it regarding celebrity gossip, I should clarify that this is not in fact gossip since it really did happen and I can account for it firsthand.  Also it was a personal story from me that didn’t contain any potentially embarrassing information from somebody that worked on the movie.  Those stories are for me only.
