Review
What’s to tell with Regen? What exactly are we getting into when we press play on this? A lot of comical and extreme action whose next gag tries to outdo the last one it pulls on your eyeballs.
The green screen is quite apparent and given some more time working with the matting and color correction tools they most likely would have pulled off a seamless environment with the actors in the scenes. For the big chase sequences, however, most objects are blurring by so fast you hardly notice.
The sound effect of the explosions sounded like they came from a stock library. The final sound mix was lacking that extra bit of oomph in the low-end to sell those explosions.
For all its faults, Regen does keep you engaged. But it does leave you feeling hungry two minutes after you’re finished. As with last week’s Phantom Theater the story simply stops where it could have easily been the introductory sequence to a full feature.
