My article on the Writers Store came out, hot off the presses. It’s an abbreviated piece of one of the chapters in Horror Screenwriting: The Nature of Fear, so if you want a taste test, have a look.
After digging around on the Internet (Google, what would I do without you?) I’ve found a few in-depth reviews of Horror Screenwriting.
Horror Screenwriting is now available through Michael Wiese, my publisher. You can order it for a short time for 25% off the list price.
I would be remiss if there was no mention here of the recent launch of Joe Larson’s ASCIIpOrtal. It’s free (PayPal donations are appreciated) with 50 levels in the base map pack, and plenty of others being made and posted as I write this.
Because I was bored and had an hour to kill, I give you BAC Pal! A very simple, small program that uses the Widmark Formula to give an estimated blood alcohol level. Using the list of states, it can then tell you if you are below the legal limit or not.
Yes, there is a story behind the cover art for Horror Screenwriting. Originally I had conceived of something more along the lines of a comic book depiction of Death driving a souped-up hot rod, cigarette in hand hanging out of the driver’s side window. But the final artwork became something even more.
Last Thursday my book Horror Screenwriting: The Nature of Fear officially went to the printers after approval of the spine and back cover by myself and my editor.
Fixed a few problems not recognizing win32com and pythoncom not being installed. Also fixed a fatal build error when using a Python version other than 2.5. It should now work with any version of Python.
I got a pair of new shoes today. Ordinarily this isn’t something to blog about, but these happen to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my entire life. And in all of the searching on the Internets, there happened to be exactly 1 picture of the specific make and model, and in the exact color I bought them in as well.
