The bound galleys for Horror Screenwriting: The Nature of Fear have just come in! If you’re not familiar with them, this is the last step in the printing process prior to going to printing a full batch. This is also my last chance, as well as my editor’s, to catch any mistakes and correct them.
I’ll be heading up to the Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival in Nashville on Saturday. Not as a participant, but merely a spectator.
Rather than let the dust collect on the blog whilst being elsewhere, I thought I would share a video that I chopped together back when I had something called spare time.
I’ve been really and truly too busy to post anything for the past few days. Once the dust has settled and I have a moment to breathe, I’ll be able to go into some more details here. For now, they’re all hush-hush, top secret things that I cannot speak of until the ink is dry on the paper.
It’s fun sometimes to kick back as a writer and do some pie-in-the-sky hypothesizing about something you’d absolutely love to work on. This is, of course, frowned down upon by some, but to them I give a hearty raspberry and move on. It doesn’t hurt to dream, and some of my best writing comes out of shooting for that elusive moon. So what are my dream writing gigs? Some of you may already know, but I’ll lay them all out here anyway.

This week’s show is going to be great. We’re focusing on B-movies and I’m proud to announce we’re having Martin Lopez on for an interview. Martin wrote one of my own guilty pleasures and seriously hilarious sci-fi comedy Mutant on the Bounty.
I know I haven’t written much in the last few days. Truth be told, I haven’t been anywhere near my computer to write anything. But I’ve got a few nice things lined up here this week, so stay tuned!
Since I was a little kid, astronomy and space fascinated me as much as, if not more than, science fiction and horror. Seeing pictures in encyclopedias and magazines of planets made my imagination go wild. Now we have the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
