A Short A Day – Skin Deep
Skin Deep

Skin DeepBeauty comes with a price in Skin Deep.

Synopsis

A disturbed killer targets a beautiful woman for being vain and shallow.

Review

At first glance you might think this is a ripoff of the Saw franchise. You would be right to think so. However, that is only cursory in my opinion.

The film centers around Lucy, a young, beautiful, and somewhat vain and shallow girl.

While the Saw series puts the gore front and center, Skin Deep eschews that for creating a more subtle atmosphere of tension and horror. While you want Lucy to escape, you can’t help but think in the back of your mind, “Serves her right.”

And why you may ask? You’ll have to watch to the end to get the one clue that tells you who is behind these evil machinations.

There is some blood in Skin Deep, but if you’re a gore hound looking for massive gut spillage, you won’t find it here.
