Just ran the WordPress 2.7.1 upgrade using the WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin.  Took a few minutes, and at no time did I have to manually edit any configuration files or do any coding on my part to make it work.  And as an added bonus, I get backups of all of my data and files.

If only everything else were this easy.
